Outdoor kitchens & alfresco in Endeavour Hills.
Endeavour Hills is mostly 1980s and 1990s family homes on 600– 800m² blocks — bigger and quieter than Hampton Park, but without the new-build polish of Cranbourne East. The classic Endeavour Hills brief is a retrofit: tear out the tired old BBQ corner and the flat-roof pergola, build a proper roofed alfresco with a built-in kitchen.
The Endeavour Hills alfresco story.
The 1980s-pergola retrofit market.
About 65% of our Endeavour Hills work is retrofit — the original cypress-frame flat polycarb pergola from 1988 is sagging, the gutters are blocked, and the slab underneath has stepped at the control joint. We tear the lot out, design a new roofed alfresco properly tied into the existing rear wall, pour fresh slab over a fully-bored-pier footing system, and then build the kitchen.
Sloped-block drainage.
A lot of Endeavour Hills sits on the slope between Heatherton Road and Power Road — rear yards often fall 600mm–1.5m from house line to back fence. That is a stormwater management problem. A 40m² alfresco roof on a sloping block needs proper grading, a step in the slab, agricultural drains behind any retaining wall, and a stormwater pit connected to the legal point of discharge. We design for this every time — the alternative is water tracking back under the slab into the house footings.
The mid-budget bracket.
Endeavour Hills budgets typically sit $25K–$45K — not the $60K+ Berwick premium bracket, not the compact Hampton Park $15K–$25K bracket. That sweet spot lets us put in a proper full kitchen with polished concrete or honed bluestone benchtop, a quality built-in BBQ (Beefeater Discovery 1100 or Beech), a gas pizza oven, and a 3-seat bar wing — without forcing compromises that look cheap after two summers.
